Final Gather Cache Files

Rendercore now supports generating final gather cache file on the render farm. The process is split into two scenes.

The first scene is used to compute the .fgm file.

The second scene does the actual rendering using the generated .fgm file.

1st Scene: (Generating Cache) Set Up

Save the final gather map to a specific drive. We recommend “D” or “E”. Log in to your ftp account and mimic the scenes path.

The following example we are using the D Drive. Enable the Calculate FG/GI and Skip Final Rendering option.

Change the Final Gather Map option to Incremental Add FG Points to FG Map Files.

Please make sure that the final gather map names between the first scene and the second scene are named the same.

The names must be identical for the second scene to find the .fgm file created by the first scene.

New Job

Fill out all the required the information. The By frame options allows you select every frame or every other frame.

For example, every 10, or 100 frames. The Frame Grouping should be more than your total amount of frames.

Ex. 1500 total amount of frames. Set the frame grouping to 1501. Your scene will generate the cache file on one machine.

2nd Scene: (Final Render) Set Up

For the final scene disable Calculate FG/GI and Skip Final Rendering setting.

Change the Final Gather Map to Read FG Points from Existing FG Map Files.
